The real you (!)
Ex Army Ranger and combat vet....currently in the field of home building and inspecting. Wife, kid..the whole works.
IRL First Name:Eric
Age: 29
Hobbies: Gaming, jiu-jitsu, acoustic guitar, and nudist vintner
Country/Timezone:central
Sister(s):Meh, i prefer white girls
Are you able to handle shit talking: My mother was a sailor
The virtual you (!) I tend to be much more reserved online than in person. I generally take a little while to acclimate to new groups and in this case clans. I'm not timid or shy, i just exercise a little vocal restraint ij order to better judge my future with said group/clan. I also tend to defer to previously established leadership, online shot calling is an underestimated responsibility and work load. I prefer to find avenues where my skill set can be of benefit to all involved.[/color]
Usual In-game/Forum Alias:Riot_ and Eruic The meek
What do you look for in a video game in order for you to play it? List at least one game which stands out for you and explain why it is superior to the others you have played:
These days time is of the essence. I no longer peruse the gaming landscape dabbling in multiple titles. I have tried very hard to stick with one game and excel at it. The games I prefer are multiplayer PvP based. I really enjoyed DF1 even though I got started really late. I think the "potential" of darkfall is by far superior to any other game I've played. If this game doesn't continue to improve I'll be very disappointed...but as it is I don't intend on playing anything else.
Describe the greatest gaming moment in your life and why it stands out among others (Regarding multi player PC games):
Honestly, I don't have a greatest gaming moment. I have personal victories along the way but most of my positive memories are of the shared experience with irl friends and small clans. To be fair though, I can barely keep track of shit in real life let alone time spent in game.
Explain briefly your least favorite kind of person to play with (characteristics, personality):
Complainers...god damn complainers!!! always whining about this or that.
How do you typically handle working with people like the one mentioned above?:
icepick to the earhole
Describe an experience where you had to act as a leader (either planned or improvised):
err...in real life I was an E-7 in the military with more than two and some change years aggregate combat time with a small tactical unit soooo..oh ya and I was an instructor at Ranger school for two years so there's that.
In games however I prefer to follow someones lead. I think it takes a certain je ne sais quoi (that's french..impressive I know) to be an online leader and everyone wants to use the almighty gift of hindsight to say I told you so. If you've ever been an effective leader than you know the benefit of loyal and reliable followers.
What sort of things define a good leader to you?: The ability to follow. The use of constructive criticism, not to be confused with avoiding confrontation or hurting someone's feelings. Good leaders also know which leadership style to apply to each individual...gottta be diverse!!
Darkfall related (!)
What sort of role will you prefer in Unholy Wars?: Not the flavor or the month or the most overpowered. as for beta, im rockin the skirmy
How much time will you be able to play Unholy Wars each day:well, afk..all day!! but actually at the keyboard probably close to two hours max during the week and whatever i can get away with on the weekends and days off.
Did you play the original Darkfall? If so, for how long?: I did sir, but only for about a year.
If you answered 'YES' above, use this section to talk about what you liked/disliked about Darkfall and any interesting experiences you had in it:
I liked the pvp. I liked the virtual stress of losing or killing. I mostly loved the chaos...it felt so familiar. I didn't like AV too much and I didn't like mastering AHK.
What is going to be your main gaming motivation while playing Unholy Wars?:
competitive PvP and clan warfare. I don't care about crafting or gathering in so much as I have to in order to advance. I want to see what combinations of roles produce the best squad based results and so forth. Ultimately I want to develop into a top tier killer
Clan related (!)
Why did you apply to Covert Operations?:
because your clan gives me the best opportunity to do the things that I want inside of Darkfall. You appear to take pride in your clan name and I like that. CO has an established reputation for applied tactics and individual prowess, I also like that. Additionally, you've previously accepted both of my good irl friends skyline gtr and sam houston...I like that too
How will you be an asset to Covert Operations?:
I'm a strong twitch player in every game I've ever played that fits into that genre. I am as chill as it comes when the virtual stress gets elevated.
Do you have any friends in the clan? If so, list who they are and give a brief history with them. Sam Houston and Skyline Gtr. My entire life I've known these two.
Previous clan(s) & the reason why you left:
I have not been involved in clan politics or anything of that nature in a long time. I've basically followed my two aforementioned friends from one game to the next just to wipe the floor with the both of them in a limited amount of time...that's all the satisfaction i need to sleep at night
How involved were you in your previous clans? (Leadership positions, politics, etc): see above
