The real you (!)
IRL First Name:
Frank Lineberry
Age:
21
Country/Timezone:
USA/CST
The virtual you (!)
Usual In-game/Forum Alias:
Pinkie Pie
How long have you been gaming?:
Around 13 years total.
What do you look for in a video game in order for you to play it? List at least one game which stands out for you and explain why it is superior to the others you have played:
I look for the subtle nuances in video games that differentiate the best from the good. Games like TES III: Morrowind left a huge impact on my gaming life, from the full loot style of game-play to the general sense of exploring a completely unknown and bizarre land. As I grew used to the typical Action-RPG style of game-play, I started to long for a sense of competition in games that I played. When I discovered EVE Online, I almost couldn't believe that such a concept was viable for online gaming, but it was definitely one of the best times of my gaming life.
Describe one of the greatest gaming moments of your life and why it stands out among others (Regarding multi player PC games):
Even though this application is for CO's Darkfall UW division, I would have to say my most exciting moment in online PC gaming would have to be the first time I'd ever podded a capsuleer in EVE. I was a part of a high-sec corp that wardec'd industrial/mining corporations, and I was flying in a standard Gallente Incursus. I split off from the rest of my corp mates to scout out a nearby system where the PvPers of one of our enemies usually hung around, and I ran into an enemy stealth bomber in a Nemesis. At first I panicked, being that I had never really engaged in much EVE PvP before (and when I had, it usually ended in me warping away in a pod), but after some encouraging words from my corp mates, I launched my weapons and lone drone to attack my aggressor. The chills I felt when I had just barely defeated my enemy was indescribable. I've still never been able to replicate that feeling, but I'm always searching for it.
Explain briefly your least favorite kind of person to play with (characteristics, personality): Quite simply a close-minded individual who has no room for criticism of any kind, and prefers to do things their own way without the help of a close-knit group.
Describe an experience where you had to act as a leader (either planned or improvised):
During my early days of Darkfall Online, I often had to act as an improvised caller during tense city-fighting and siege environments. I never once asked to do it, I simply took the initiative, and the rest of the dominoes fell into place. I still enjoy calling as a part of my general game-play style, but it's taken a back seat to my own attempts to better learn the game itself as of late.
Darkfall: Unholy Wars related (!)
Warrior, skirm, primalist or elementalist - Which will you prefer?:
Prime/Skirm. Post refund patch I may relegate myself to Ele/Prime based spells/skills.
How much time will you be able to play Unholy Wars each day:
4-6 hours on average, probably more.
How much Prowess does your character currently have?
68k, though I am near quite a few feats that will easily bring me into the realm of ~100k.
What crafting skills, if any, have you spent time working on?
Tailoring/Leatherworking
Are you able to communicate in comms during a fight? (This is a big one)
: Absolutely.
Clan related (!)
Why did you apply to Covert Operations?:
I feel rather unwelcome in RED currently, after attempting to secure the exit of some CO members from our city after the de-ally, I was threatened to be kicked because of my conduct. Through my time around CO in Alberworth, I feel like you guys have a fairly easy-going vibe, and would really like a piece of that action. After hearing you guys also played other games, I was convinced to app up.
How will you be an asset to Covert Operations?:
In the absence of others, I can be relied on to call as efficiently as I can. I can also be a major asset through my Primalist role. I also attempt to be proactive when it comes to issues of a political nature if it's any of my business, even in real life, I've always tried to mend broken bridges and avoid major conflicts that can be resolved through social interaction.
Do you have any friends in the clan? If so, list who they are and give a brief history with them.
Kalam Harsh, Sopha Kingdom/Boat Oar. I had met both of them in Zerg, and I would personally call them friends in the game, and I've got a lot of respect for how well they play.
Previous clan(s) & the reason why you left:
Zerg (Looking for smaller scale Darkfall PvP), Red (I've been getting a general 'unwelcome' feeling as of late, even before the CO de-ally)
How involved were you in your previous clans? (Leadership positions, politics, etc): In Zerg, from Darkfall Online to UW I was considered a high ranking officer. In Online I held banking rights in the clan, as well as control over many imperative clan-related controls. In Red I remained an underling, which I quite enjoyed as it removed an extreme amount of pressure off of my shoulders.
