I realize that recruitment is closed, but I will still submit this application just in case. I glanced at a few different apps from other players and the template posted. Each one seemed different so I grabbed the majority of the questions and put them into my post.
The real you (!)
IRL First Name: Rob
Age: 23
Hobbies: Gaming, Electronics repair (phones primarily), Fishing, Guns- building, collecting and shooting
Country/Timezone: USA, EST
Are you able to handle shit talking: Yes
The virtual you (!)
Usual In-game/Forum Alias: Lord Grizzly in DF, Zirconium on DF forum, Carebearstare on steam/other games
How long have you been gaming?: 15+ years, I don't recall exactly.
What do you look for in a video game in order for you to play it? List at least one game which stands out for you and explain why it is superior to the others you have played: Open world, fps, skill based type games are typically what I look for, however I own over 70 games, but only actively play about 3 of them. With Unholy Wars releasing I doubt I will play much else. Darkfall Online was by far the most fun I have had in a game. It is the only game that can give me an adrenaline rush and the feeling you get from coming out on top is unmatched in any other game I've played.
Describe one of the greatest gaming moments of your life and why it stands out among others (Regarding multi player PC games): Myself and Nacitar scaled a mountain in DF 1 and managed take down the shard holder against the well defended enemy. I do not recall the city that was being under siege.
Explain briefly your least favorite kind of person to play with (characteristics, personality): I honestly get along with most people I play games with so I had to think about this for a few minutes. I would say the least favorite type of person to play with would be the type of person who can talk shit but cant take it and is prone to rage quitting when they are needed.
How do you typically handle working with people like the one mentioned above?: I cannot recall any instances where I had an issue with players that caused any major drama (although i'm sure its happened). I handle it by typically not engaging them unless necessary.
Describe an experience where you had to act as a leader (either planned or improvised): I have acted as a raid leader in WoW and Rift while playing. It was usually out of necessity due to lack of situation awareness of the other guild leaders. When not leading my experience in raids was negative due to constant wipes and lack of moral, which in turn put me into a leadership role more often than not despite my willingness to be just a grunt.
Darkfall related (!)
Warrior, skirm, primalist or elementalist - Which will you prefer?: Skirm or warrior, depends on how the balancing in game plays out.
How much time will you be able to play Unholy Wars each day: 3-6 hours Mon, Tues, Wed night. Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun I currently have off from work and should be able to play more.
Did you play the original Darkfall? If so, for how long?: I want to say it was a little over a year. I started when Stasis was taking over Ruby, I was in NME with Nacitar at the time.
If you answered 'YES' above, use this section to talk about what you liked/disliked about Darkfall and any interesting experiences you had in it: FPS style MMO is what drew me in, the full loot is what kept me there for so long. I disliked the grind and poor bindings which occasionally led me to fumble when fighting (I didn't use AHK or macros).
What is going to be your main gaming motivation while playing Unholy Wars?: Competitive PVP
Clan related (!)
Why did you apply to Covert Operations?: I am applying to join CO because they are established in the DF community and to also join some of the people I played DF1 with extensively.
How will you be an asset to Covert Operations?: I always strive to be the best and I seldom run into people in games that can best me. DF1 had a lot of skilled players so I was constantly becoming better and I expect the same from DFUW.
Do you have any friends in the clan? If so, list who they are and give a brief history with them. Nacitar, basically the left nut in DF1 and I was the right. We basically ran together throughout the game until I had to quit (work related). You'll see us pvping together in his videos.
Shado, I've played with him in APB a bit and spent time in Mumble with him. Hes a cool dood.
Dolic, muscle bound nerd side strafing nerd slayer. He ran with Nacitar and I most of the time despite the constant shit talk we gave him about strafing like a scrub. One of the people I really enjoyed playing with.
Previous clan(s) & the reason why you left: NME in the early days as a noob, as I got better and established myself as a competant pvp'er I was promoted to an officer. I eventually left because my competitive side got the best of me and I went to seek a more hardcore clan. I app'd to DHW with Nacitar, Xphifer and Dolic and we were accepted. I never left DHW, I just quit the game (work related again). When I came back to DFUW and went to see what they were up to I realized the ONLY person from DHW who played still that was in the clan at the same time as me was Jonah I realized it wasn't the same clan and chose not to join them.
How involved were you in your previous clans? (Leadership positions, politics, etc): Officer/part time pvp leader in NME and just another soldier in DHW.
Work has since cleared up and I do not expect it effect me this time around.
