The real you (!)
IRL First Name:
Caleb
Age:
22
Country/Timezone:
USA / EST
The virtual you (!)
Usual In-game/Forum Alias:
Wreck It
How long have you been gaming?:
15+ years
What do you look for in a video game in order for you to play it? List at least one game which stands out for you and explain why it is superior to the others you have played:
Competitive PVP. Darkall Online (This game had me by the nuts). Anything that I can jump into and feel like my existence has a meaning in the game. I don't enjoy themeparks because of this. I loved RUST, EVE, and even less competitive sandboxes like Minecraft.
Describe one of the greatest gaming moments of your life and why it stands out among others (Regarding multi player PC games):
Definitely has to be in RUST. We had just joined a server that had just been wiped about 30 minutes previously. Only 3 people on the server had guns and they were camping in the major cities. So our intelligent group decided we would attempt to zerg down the gunman. Well 5v1 is pretty good odds, until you realize that you are wielding rocks against an MP5. It was an unfortunate series of events, but the funniest thing I have ever been part of. Being slightly drunk definitely helped.
Explain briefly your least favorite kind of person to play with (characteristics, personality):
Anybody that thinks they are better than everyone else. Often these players will be on a high horse and will talk down towards other players or even worse be passive aggressive. I understand joking around with friends, and any true gamer friends are the biggest smack talkers to one another. It is easy to tell the difference between friends fucking around and someone actually being an asshole.
Describe an experience where you had to act as a leader (either planned or improvised):
I've lead a few groups in the Darkfall days and especially in RUST. Often times I would be a backup caller in case the primary would go down. I've been an officer in many guilds and helped lead Sick Bastards for a brief period of time before real life called and I was forced to leave online gaming for a brief period.
Darkfall: Unholy Wars related (!)
Warrior, skirm, primalist or elementalist - Which will you prefer?:
Now it doesn't really matter. I'm just looking for the best combination of skills. I don't like gimping myself if not necessary.
How much time will you be able to play Unholy Wars each day:
Depends on how the rest of my summer goes. I am currently enrolled in summer classes, but I should be available throughout the weekends and during the week I will have a few hours a day.
How much Prowess does your character currently have?
88k unspent
What crafting skills, if any, have you spent time working on?
Not many. I have 75 Armorsmithing, 75 Leatherworking, 75 Bowyer, 50 Staffcrafting, and almost 100 in the processing skills.
Are you able to communicate in comms during a fight? (This is a big one)
Definitely.
Clan related (!)
Why did you apply to Covert Operations?:
I've had a few opportunities to play with CO in the past as an allied clan and have enjoyed them. My last clan, Sick Bastards, disbanded and I am looking for a new home. I talked to a few of the past members of SB and they have kind of split ways. I always liked how cohesive CO has seemed in the past and would like an opportunity to play with you.
How will you be an asset to Covert Operations?:
I am a strong independent player, as well as a beneficial member to your group. I can make decisions quickly and I don't need to be babysat. I enjoy helping other people.
Do you have any friends in the clan? If so, list who they are and give a brief history with them.
Not really. I have a few acquaintances that I met while we were farming Swamp Hags outside the main Orc city. It was over a year ago though near the launch of UW and I'm sorry that my memory is foggy.
Previous clan(s) & the reason why you left:
The Gentlemen (hackers), Sick Bastards (disbanded)
How involved were you in your previous clans? (Leadership positions, politics, etc):
Very involved. I was a General in the Gentlemen until I found out that Krypy and Noobstriker had been participating in something I strongly disagree with. I was actually the one hosting the mumble server for them at the time, and ended up powering it down as soon as I found out.
Sick Bastards, I was a very involved player too. I was a Major in SB and participated on their Leadership forums.. I played with SB for over three years, and had been inactive for a few months when I found out that they had disbanded.
